Faye Wassmer
Personal Trainer + Group Coach

About
Faye grew up right here in the Comox Valley and has been chasing movement since she first kicked a soccer ball at age 9. Though her family wasn't particularly active, sport quickly became her thing. She played competitive soccer for years, from local rep teams all the way through to Division 1 as a young adult, before a severe ACL reconstruction stopped her in her tracks. That experience was one of the hardest things she's been through, and it completely shifted how she thinks about strength, bone density, and injury prevention, especially for women. It's a big part of why she's here.
Since then, Faye has thrown herself into endurance sport, strength training, and now coaching. She spent years as a refrigeration technician and serves as a firefighter with the Courtenay Fire Department, but fitness is where her heart has always been. She's half-Filipina, endlessly curious, and the kind of person who will say yes to pretty much any challenge. She is so glad to be part of the W+U family.
Fun Facts

+ Her husband trains for triathlon. She fully intends to beat him one day and she is very serious about this.
+ Their 3 year old is a cat named Girl. Also known as Girlie, Girlfriend, and Girlie-Wirly. She is the sweetest sass you will ever meet.
+ You can usually find Faye running or cycling around town, or at a coffee shop ordering an affogato. Sometimes both at the same time.
