As part of our Front-of-House team, you will be the warm, friendly face that greets members, fosters our community vibe, and helps us deliver a seamless and uplifting studio experience.
What You’ll Do — Key Responsibilities

Greet members and guests with warmth, professionalism, and a smile; be the first point of contact for arrivals.

Check in members for classes, manage guest sign-ins, handle bookings, class registrations, and membership onboarding.

Give tours of the studio to prospective members, explain class offerings and membership options, and facilitate sign-ups.

Manage member inquiries and communications — in person, by phone, email or social media — with friendly, clear, and positive communication.

Perform light administrative tasks: update member accounts, process payments or membership transactions, maintain accurate records.

Help maintain studio cleanliness and organization: keep reception, common areas, and retail/shop spaces tidy, restock supplies, support opening/closing and general facility upkeep.

Support the studio team: assist with class scheduling, coordinate with instructors, help with events or occasional light duties as needed.
Who We’re Looking For — Qualifications, Skills & Traits

A genuine people-person: friendly, warm, approachable, and committed to creating a welcoming studio environment.

Strong communication skills — able to handle conversations with members/guests clearly and professionally, on phone or email as well as in person.

Organized, detail-oriented, able to multitask smoothly (especially useful during busy class times or overlapping member activity).

Comfortable with basic administration and computer tasks (member management systems, scheduling, payments).

Reliable, punctual, comfortable working flexible hours that may include weekends, mid-week daytime or evening shifts.

Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or ideally in the fitness/wellness industry — though not strictly required.

Bonus: interest in health, fitness, and community building; ability to represent Wild + United’s values; basic First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to get certified.

POSITION: Certified Personal Trainer / Group Fitness Instructor / Strength Training Coach
We are a fun and friendly local strength and conditioning gym looking to expand our coaching roster with an experienced coach who’s ready to bring the heat in group fitness classes as well as take on some personal training clients. We have recently moved into a larger space on McPhee Ave in Courtenay and our team of 10 coaches is struggling to keep up with the demand in work! We are receiving multiple personal training inquiries each week (sometimes each day!) so we’re hoping to onboard a coach who has a flexible schedule and is ready to build a roster of clients!
Our classes cap at 12 people and we pride ourselves on offering hands-on, dynamic coaching that not only motivates our clients but also builds their confidence in strength training. Our gym culture occupies the space between Crossfit, power lifting and general group fitness classes, with our coaches having experience and certifications from both worlds.
You are:
-A certified strength training coach or group fitness instructor (CSIA/NASM/BCRPA/Crossfit/Kettlebell/Kinesiologist etc are all great)
-Are confident and experienced at teaching barbell movements including bench/squat/deadlift
-Enjoy programming and coaching creative workouts that focus on functional movement, mobility and strength development
-Genuinely kind and thoughtful
-Passionate about inclusive communities that welcome all types of gym goers
-You do not tolerate racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, fatphobia, diet culture and homophobia
-Self-directed and proactive
-An awesome multitasker
-Not scared of bluetooth speakers and timers
Must have:
-Ability to pick up group fitness classes on weekends, well as being interested in picking up classes and clients throughout the week. Hours are flexible and we value your willingness to cover classes for team mates!
-First Aid certificate that must include CPR-A and AED training (may be completed before first day of work)
-Excellent professional references
We’re interested in hiring a permanent part time or full time coach. We will consider part timers who prioritize their coaching schedule equally to any other work they’re doing and are reliable in their commitment to our community.
Responsibilities:
-Programming and coaching effective and fun personal training sessions
-Programming and coaching fun and functional full body group fitness workouts
-Tailoring and scaling your workout on the fly for clients of all levels and with various injuries
-Putting on your game face and hosting an awesome class no matter how your day is going
-Customer service before, during and after class
-Consistently providing our clients with the best hour of their day
Benefits:
-Group Fitness: Experience based wages starting at $28/hr for part time, and $30/hr full time (>20 hours/week) with less than 2 years coaching experience. Hiring rates vary depending on experience, education, and willingness to continue ongoing education. Coaches with more 2+ years of experience who regularly fill classes and take advantage of our bonus structures can expect to earn between $35-40/hr. in their first year. In year two all coching hours are boosted to $5 more per hour. Personal training wages start at $48/hr.
-Free use of our awesome gym and programs for you, and full timers (20+ hrs per week) also get a free membership for their spouse or 1 household family member.
