Group Fitness Instructor/Strength Training Coach

We are a fun and friendly local strength and conditioning gym looking to expand our coaching roster with an experienced coach who’s ready to bring the heat in group fitness classes. Our classes currently have a max of 6 people in them (due to Covid restrictions) but usually cap at 10 people.  We pride ourselves on offering hands-on, dynamic coaching that not only motivates our clients but also builds their confidence in strength training.  Our gym culture occupies the space between Crossfit and general group fitness classes, with our coaches having experience and certifications from both worlds. However, we are not a Crossfit affiliate and we do not currently teach olympic lifting. (Unless you’re about to be our new specialized olympic lifting coach!?)

You are:

-A certified strength training coach or group fitness instructor (BCRPA/Crossfit/Kettlebell etc are all great)

-Are confident teaching barbell movements including bench/squat/deadlift

-Enjoy programming and coaching creative workouts that focus on functional movement, mobility and strength development

-Willing to coach over Zoom in necessary

-Genuinely kind and thoughtful

-Passionate about inclusive communities that welcome all types of gym goers

-You do not tolerate racism, sexism, ableism, ageism, fatphobia, diet culture and homophobia

-Self-directed and proactive

-An awesome multi-tasker

-Not scared of bluetooth speakers and timers

Must have:

-First Aid certificate that must include CPR-A and AED training (may be completed before first day of work)

-Excellent professional references

-Ability to work weekday early mornings (6am) or evenings (4:30-7pm) AND Saturdays

We’re interested in hiring a permanent full time coach who wants to make coaching their main gig.  We will consider part timers who prioritize their coaching schedule equally to any other work they’re doing and are reliable in their commitment to our community.

Responsibilities:

-Programming and coaching fun and functional full body workouts

-Tailoring your workout on the fly for clients of all levels

-Putting on your game face and hosting an awesome class no matter how your day is going

-Customer service before, during and after class

-Consistently providing our clients with the best hour of their day

Benefits:

-Free use of our brand new gym (we’re expanding in spring 2021) and programs for you and your spouse

-Flexible holiday scheduling

-Tuition reimbursement for professional development

-Working with an awesome team and clients who love to be in our facility

If you are interested, you can learn more about us at www.wildandunited.com.  We do require that you join in a class as part of your application.  Please email info@wildandunited.com with your resume and cover letter letting us know why you’d be a great fit and are stoked to join our team!
