Adaptive Strength
The Adaptive Strength Association of BC is a local non-profit dedicated to making strength training accessible for people of all abilities, including those with mobility challenges, neuro-adaptive needs, and acquired or life-long disabilities.
Too often, people with disabilities encounter barriers when it comes to fitness: equipment that isn’t accessible, coaches who aren’t trained to adapt, financial constraints, or the feeling that they simply don’t belong in traditional gym spaces. These barriers don’t just limit physical health – they cut people off from community, confidence, and independence.
We are here to change that. The Adaptive Strength Association provides inclusive training opportunities, education for coaches and facilities, and pathways for people to stay active whether they are living with a life-long or permanent disability, navigating the lasting effects of a major injury, or facing barriers that make traditional fitness spaces inaccessible.
Your support helps us break down those barriers. Donations go directly toward funding adaptive programs, subsidizing training for those facing financial hardship, and equipping local gyms and coaches to welcome adaptive athletes with the respect and expertise they deserve. Together, we can build a world where everyone has access to movement, strength, and belonging, no matter their starting point.
