Amanda MacKenzie (She/Her)
Personal Trainer + Group Coach

About
Amanda began her physical fitness journey as a teenager strength training in her high school fitness room and leading her hockey team through dryland training. Not long after, she began working in a gym in the Western Communities of Vancouver Island where she learned that teaching physical fitness could be a career. However, wanting to understand the human body better, she began a lengthy academic endeavor including a diploma in Exercise and Wellness, an undergraduate degree in Athletic and Exercise Therapy, and finally a Master's in Rehabilitation Science.
After several years working as a Certified Orthotist, Amanda realized her passion for physical fitness remained high. The relationship between mindful strength training and injury prevention became impossible for her to ignore, so she decided it was time to use her skills to help those around her to both improve their physical function and prevent injury. After recertifying as a BCRPA Fitness Leader with a focus in Weight Training, Amanda began her return to the field as a group fitness coach and personal trainer.
Amanda encourages people to achieve their personal best physical function. She loves to bring the energy into group classes and in personal training she narrows in on effective form and safe movements.
